Overview
Safe and Legal Wi-Fi Security Training Through Virtual Network Simulation
What is WifiForge?
WifiForge is a Wi-Fi security training tool developed by Black Hills InfoSec that provides a safe and legal environment for learning Wi-Fi hacking techniques. Based on the open source mininet-wifi framework, WifiForge automatically sets up the networks and tools needed to run a variety of Wi-Fi exploitation labs, removing the need for the overhead and hardware normally required to perform these attacks.
Tools You Will Use
- Aircrack-ng Suite (Labs 04, 05, 11): Complete wireless audit platform
- Bettercap (Labs 01, 02): Modern network attack and monitoring framework
- Airgeddon (Lab 06): Multi-use wireless security auditing tool
- Wifiphisher (Lab 09): Automated phishing attacks against Wi-Fi networks
- John the Ripper (Lab 08): Password cracking tool
- Hashcat (Lab 03): Advanced password recovery tool
- Wifite (Lab 10): Automated wireless auditing tool
- Eaphammer (Lab 07): Evil-twin attack framework for capturing credentials
- iperf (Lab 11): Network performance measurement and traffic generation
Available Lab Exercises
WifiForge provides hands-on wireless security labs covering various attack vectors and wireless capabilities. These labs teach practical wireless security techniques using real security tools in safe virtual environments.
